Being Strengths Responsive

Listen to yourself. Make room for your strengths.

A three-session workshop with Jennifer Rose and Viviana Celicia

What lights you up? What happens when you listen to that—and make a little more room for it?

Being Strengths Responsive builds on the Positive Identity Project (PiP) framework, beginning with two questions:

What is a recent positive moment?
What were you doing or being that made that possible?

Through reflection and supportive listening, you’ll put strengths into your own words. Then you’ll choose a small experiment to explore how those strengths can find more expression in your everyday life.

You might begin with a goal you care about, or discover a direction by listening to your positive experiences. You don’t need to arrive with a plan.

Small changes. Room to explore.

Being strengths responsive means noticing your strengths and letting what you learn influence your choices or how you approach your responsibilities. We’ll explore three places you can make a change:

  • Your goal: What do you want to move toward?
  • Your conditions: What circumstances would help your strengths find expression?
  • Your approach: How could you do something in a way that draws on your strengths?

Your experiment can be small. You’ll have time between meetings to try it, then return to the group to reflect and choose what comes next. An experiment doesn’t have to go as planned to teach you something.

Our three sessions

November 15 · Discover and try
Share positive moments, articulate strengths, and choose a small experiment that gives your strengths more room.

November 22 · Notice and explore
Share what happened and what you noticed. With support from the group, adjust your experiment or choose another experiment, informed by more recent positive moments.

December 6 · Reflect and continue
Reflect on your second experiment and make a manageable longer-term plan to keep noticing, listening, experimenting, and responding.

What you’ll leave with

  • Strengths in your own words, grounded in your positive experiences.
  • Learning from two small experiments in making room for your strengths.
  • A personal workbook filled with your reflections, discoveries, and plans. Type into the fillable PDF and save it, or print it and write by hand.
  • A plan for staying engaged, with a process you can return to as your life and interests evolve.
